Eligibility Criteria to the BMS Course
The admission seeking admission in the course will need some basic essential qualifications. Some eligibility criteria are listed below-
(a) The candidates interested in studying Business Management Studies have to complete their class 12 or equivalent with any stream (Arts, Commerce, and Science) from a recognized board.
(b) A minimum of 50% aggregate marks must be obtained in their intermediate examination. There would be 5% relaxation on the candidates belonging to the reserved category (45 percent for reserved category students). This could be different from college to college.
(c) Candidates should have good command over communication skills, creative thinking, patience, and basic aptitude-related management.
(d) To get admission in the course, students will need to qualify for the entrance exam specified by the university they wish to apply to.
(e) Several colleges in India consider entrance exam scores for the selection of candidates for admission. The entrance exams for BBA and BMS are common. Some of India’s top BBA/BMS entrance exams include Delhi university JAT, Christian University Entrance Test (CUET), NPAT, UGAT, IPMAT, AUMAT, FEAT, Banaras Hindu University Entrance Test, and many more. However, some also provide admissions based on their intermediate or class 12th scores.
(f) Aspirants interested in pursuing a BMS course abroad should have excellent grades in the 10+2 examination. Apart from clearing 10+2, you also need to score the required percentile in English proficiency tests like TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE. Notwithstanding, the aspirants should have Letters of Recommendation (LORs), SOP, Marksheets, etc., from other components of the admission process.
Admission Process to the BMS Course
Very few colleges in India provide admission to the Bachelor of Management studies programme on the basis of intermediate or higher secondary examination score where they would have to mark above a minimum percentile (varies from one university to another). However, there are several other colleges that offer admission to the course only after qualifying entrance exams of the same colleges or national level entrance exam. The students of the respective application forms must give an entrance exam and clear it to get access to the Bachelor of Management program. It is mandatory for every student interested and highly motivated to enhance their excellent skills and experience in management to stand out in the market. After crossing the cut-off marks, the eligible candidates would be called for a personal interview round. Based on the entrance exam score and performance in the interview, candidates will be finally shortlisted for admission to the BMS course. (a) Your first step for admission will be checking the eligibility criteria whether you are completing the specific qualifications for the program or not. If you are eligible, then you can definitely apply for admission in the state of their choice.
(b) You will proceed for next step or phase of admission to the BMS program, when you satisfy the 1st step or phase. In this phase, aspirants will have to fill the application form correctly and upload the documents in appropriate format and size. After few days, admit card for the entrance programme will be announced.
(c) The third one is the most important step or phase of admission process because the selection of candidates is based on the performance made in the entrance exam. In this phase, you will have to appear for the entrance exam of the course and qualify for it.
(d) You will be called for a personal interview/counselling round when you make your score above the cut-off set up by the respective colleges or national level entrance exam entrance board’s cut-offs. It is the fourth phase of the course of admission.
(e) It is the last phase or fifth phase of admission in the programme. In this phase, candidates would be selected based on their score in the entrance exam and performance in the interview round. If student names are shortlisted, admission to the Bachelor of Management Studies is finally granted.
