Surajkund Crafts Mela is an annual event organized on a large scale at Surajkund, District Faridabad, by Haryana, from 1 February to 16 February 2022. Haryana Tourism initiated the first Surajkund Crafts Mela in 1987, and ever since, the historic fair has been held every year. The objective behind establishing the fair was to recognize and promote the talent and culture of local artisans in our country.
The Mela takes place at Surajkund (8 km from South Delhi), which lies in the district of Faridabad, located on the Delhi – Agra National Highway. Surajkund, meaning ‘Lake of the Sun, is an ancient reservoir that was built by King Suraj Pal of the Tomar dynasty in the 10th century.
The fair was elevated to an international level in 2013, and a record of over 20 countries from South Asia, Africa, and Europe actively participated in the Mela in 2015, with Chhattisgarh serving as the theme state and Lebanon serving as the Partner Nation.

For example, in 2018, 2019, and 2022 Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Jammu & Kashmir were the Theme states of the Surajkund Crafts Mela respectively. This year 2023 states have not been selected yet.
