Childhood and Early Life of the Legendary Music Director Vidyasagar

Vidyasagar was born on March 2, 1963, in Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh. He was named after Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar, an Indian educator and social reformer of the 19th Century.

His grandfather Varaha Narasimha Murthy served as the court ‘Vidhwan’ for the monarch of Vijayanagaram Bobili in the state of Andhra Pradesh, and his father U. Ramachander was a musician who could play eight different instruments.

He was nurtured in Bobbili, a town in the Vizianagaram district. Since he belonged to a music family Background, his keenness to learn music was sparked inside him from a very young age.

When he was just 4 years old, he began studying vocal classical music and harmonium with his father. At the age of eight, he received training in Carnatic singing before beginning lessons with Master Dhanraj in Chennai for classical guitar. Later, he underwent Piano training with A. R. Rahman.

At the Trinity College of Music in London, Vidyasagar studied Western classical music. Vidyasagar signed up to work as a regular musician for numerous music directors when he was eleven years old since he was proficient on a dozen different instruments.

Vidyasagar could play in all languages at the time because Chennai was where the majority of movies were recorded. Then, Vidyasagar decided to write his own songs and have someone else perform them.

He had helped a number of music directors, even lending some of them ghost music. He wanted to compose independently because he had the experience.
