What is the Full Form of BAMS?
BAMS full form is Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery. It is an undergraduate medical course for students aspiring to pursue a career in traditional Ayurveda. The course is a 5 and ½ years-long professional bachelor degree course that trains students to learn numerous systems of medicine in Ayurveda to treat patients’ ailments and reduce the frequency of diseases. Objective of BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery)
B.A.M.S. is an undergraduate course designed to prepare students with a deep understanding of the field of Ayurveda with a basic understanding of the various subjects of Ayurveda supported by extensive, practical training. The objectives of the BAMS program are:

(b) Recognize the significance of Ayurvedic principles in the circumstances of the health needs of the people in your community.
(c) In order to recognize and manage chronic and acute ailments based on assessments of clinical signs and symptoms, as well as appropriately chosen and performed tests.
(d) To effectively carry out Ayurvedic treatment of all kinds of ailments after rapidly analyzing the patient and synthesizing the available information from clinical and investigational sources to form a complete picture of the symptoms.
(e) To recognize the social, economic, environmental as well as emotional and biological determinants of health in a particular instance, and then take them into consideration when planning rehabilitation, therapeutic, and preventive strategies.
(f) Stay abreast of the latest developments and knowledge in the field by engaging in self-learning or continuing medical education programs.
(g) To be able to critically review relevant research papers and apply them to affect the practice of Ayurveda.
Who can Study the BAMS Course?
The aspirants excited to pursue the course are needed to fulfil the basic eligibility requirements. some of them are-
(a) Applicants must have done class XIIth standard with science stream PCB as the compulsory subjects).
(b) Applicants should have obtained at least 50-60% in the intermediate examination. The minimum marks requirement may differ for the different colleges. Though, general category students should have scored above 50 per cent aggregate marks.
(c) Also, students must have completed 17 years of age to register for the BAMS program.
(d) The applicants must clear the NEET-UG entrance exam for admissions into the reputed institutions.
